Courtney's love for the outdoors began at an early age and was fostered by her adventurous family in the woods of Fredericksburg Virginia. At age 7 she moved to Mount Pleasant and fell in love with life around the coastal waters of South Carolina. After graduating from College of Charleston with a degree in biology, Courtney began working for Barrier Island Eco Tours as a Boat Captain and Naturalist. She believes education is the key to conservation of the Earth's resources. When Courtney isn't working alongside her husband, Jim, who is a fishing guide, and their dog Moses, she is exploring the outdoors, spending time with family, gardening, fishing and traveling.
Hiking is a well-established old tradition in our family. So, naturally when my husband, Jim, and I ventured out West to Reno, Nevada to visit my brother and his family, we had to go on a hike. My brother has a home near the base of the Diamond Peak lifts on the Northeast side of Lake Tahoe.
