The Ultimate Hike
The Ultimate Hike! Are you ready for a challenge? …a life changing, lifesaving adventure! Your boots can help find a cure for children’s cancer. Non-hikers and experienced hikers have successfully completed this fully supported hike. You will be rewarded by meeting the challenge and by working with a dedicated group of people.
What: On May 16, 2015, a 28.3 mile/one-day hike on the Foothills Trail, a rugged mountain trail along the beautiful Chattooga River that separates South Carolina from Georgia in the western corner of the state.
Why: to raise money for CureSearch for Children’s Cancer research; each participant is required to raise $2500 (it is an important cause, we will provide you with helpful materials)
How: You will train with a Columbia and/or Charleston team (TBD), get to know your teammates and prepare for the long hike. On hike day, you will be fully supported by CureSearch staff and volunteers as well as the Oconee County Rescue Squad. They provide rest stations with snacks, water, first aid and comfort. (teams from Raleigh, Asheville, Charlotte, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Columbia, Greenville and Atlanta will participate on hike day…you’ll get to know a great group of people).
