Generally speaking, we adhere to each vendor's warranty/repair policies, most of which have good warranties against manufacturers defects but not against wear and tear. The Backpacker takes care of all warranty issues for our customers...specifically communicating with the manufacturer and sending items back for assessment, repair and/or replacement.
It normally takes 6-8 weeks for items to be repaired and about 2 weeks for us to find out if an item is going to be covered by warranty, which if it is, the manufacturer will send us a credit for the item, repair it or replace it altogether. Every manufacturer is different, but most of them cover core things like seams or zippers busting. Lots of footwear companies have 3 month to 1 year warranties, while some have none whatsoever, in which case we will usually honor a 2 week warranty and replace the item if it busts within 2 weeks.
